Meet Anna-Maria

In the spring of 2004, my husband, Erin Rodriguez, and I moved to historic Apalachicola because it reminded us of our favorite Maine fishing village, without the freezing weather. At the time, we had only our sweet English bulldog and incredible optimism for making this beautiful area our home. Now, eleven years later, we are surrounded by our two children, Elena Kit and Kai, more pets, and a gracious community of friends and neighbors. We couldn't imagine another place in which to live, work and play.

I was born and raised in Louisiana, but headed north to pursue my passion–art and design. After graduating from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, with a degree in Art History and Archaeology, I received my master's degree in Decorative Arts, Design & Material Culture from The Bard Center in New York City. During my time in New York City, I held numerous research positions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art; and for several years, I was an associate at a prestigious art appraisal firm while also brokering Italian Art between international clients. It was this experience of collaborating with discerning clients that made me realize that sales and having the opportunity to forge relationships with people was my ultimate calling.

That calling to sales eventually led me to real estate and now, with eleven years of combined experience as a Realtor and Broker, I have a broad understanding of what it takes to make a deal work. I have expert knowledge in historic architecture and first-hand experience in local planning and zoning regulations. For the last 10 years, I have been a member of the Apalachicola Board of Adjustment and I am a founding member of the Apalachicola Community Redevelopment Agency. As a strong supporter of our community, I am involved with the Apalachicola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Apalachicola Main Street, Forgotten Coast Plein Air, Apalachicola River Film Festival, and Bay Community Pre-School. I am also a member of the Realtor Association of Franklin and Gulf Counties, the Florida Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.

In business, as well as in life, my primary focus is building valuable relationships. When not working directly with my real estate clients, I am actively involved in representing accomplished and professional artists as curator of our art gallery, 49 Palmetto. Our favorite family pastimes include: cooking for gracious friends, exploring the natural wonders of the Apalachicola River on our boat, Migration, and swimming our local waters.
